A Lancashire lass, I currently live in the South East. I am a Labour Party activist and campaigner and since being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013 I try to raise awareness about cancer and campaign for better treatment and diagnosis.
In 2017 and 2019 I was the Labour Parliamentary candidate in the Rochford and Southend East constituency. My campaigns were high profile and rooted in the local community. In 2017 my campaign resulted in the seat being declared a target seat for the first time ever. I was selected to fight the seat again in 2019 and whilst many Leave voting seats across the country saw huge drops in the Labour vote I managed to control our losses considerably, with a swing away from Labour of half that in some similar seats.
I have worked in local government for over 25 years and deeply committed to local services that empower and support our communities. I’m an active trade unionist and Labour party member, dedicated to making sure Labour remains the voice of working people and securing a Labour government for us all.
